STUDY ON THE SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATION OF LINEAR ROSIN ESTER SIZE
In this paper, linear rosin ester size was synthesized from modified rosin and diethylene glycol. Some influence factors on synthesis were discussed, such as raw material ratio, heating mode, dosage of catalyst and emulsifier. The effect of the pH value and the dosage of size on sizing efficiency were studied as well. The results show that with the dual retention system (cationic starch and CPAM), the optimized sizing pH is 7.0 and the sizing degree can increase over 90s, when the mixed furnish (composed of bleached magnesium bisulfite reed pulp and bleached Kraft pulp) is sized by the linear rosin ester size.
