Analysis of Processing Load of key Nodes in Mobility Protocols
Processing load of the key nodes is an important measure of scalability in mobility protocols. A suitable network model was proposed and the processing load of the key nodes using various mobility protocols was analyzed theoretically. In this base the numerical simulation method was applied to compare the processing load of HA when only using mobile IP with introducing hierarchical mobility and the processing load of GW when applying different micromobility protocols. The results show that introducing hierarchical mobility lightens the processing load of HA and increases the protocol scalability comparing with only using mobile IP.In different micro-mobility protocols, the route maintenance strategy of deleting old routes explicitly has more scalability than frequent sending refresh messages periodically and the route update method of sending route update messages to crossover MRA has more scalability than sending messages to GW.
