Generation of a Typical Meteorological Year Using 10 years Data of Beijing,China

10 years data (1995-2004) of dry bulb temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and solar radiation obtained at Beijing meteorological stations of China was analyzed to generate the typical meteorological year (TMY) of Beijing.Using the Finkelstein-Schafer statistical method, twelve typical meteorological months were selected from different years to form a TMY for Beijing. The cumulative distribution function on the typical meteorological months selected tends to follow there long term counterparts quite well. The results in this paper will fill this gap that complete and detailed typical meteorological year is not available for Beijing of China, and will be useful for the prediction and comparison of the performance of passive and active solar systems and for building thermal analysis.
