A Novel EA with Wide Dynamic Range for Small Settling Time PWM DC-DC Converter
A novel error amplifier (EA) is proposed to obtain a large dynamic range as well as a fine-adjustment pulse width modulation (PWM).So the error voltages can be detected precisely. As a result,the output ripples are reduced,and the settling time of converter is extremely shortened. The proposed EA is designed and implemented by 0.002mm 36V bipolar process.For this EA,the simulation results show that,the open-loop and closed-loop gains are 61dB and 33dB respectively, the gain bandwidth (GBW) is achieved as high as 200MHz,and the slew rate is 640V/ms. The whole chip simulation results show that the peak-peak amplitude of the output ripples is less than 2.07mV and the settling time is 0.964ms,with the output voltage of 3.3V and the load current of 20mA.
