Research on the Measurement of Quartz Crystal Static Capacitance Based on Direct Transmission Method

Static capacitance is an important electrical parameter of quartz crystal.In this paper,an advanced quartz crystal static capacitance measurement method bases on standard IEC-444 has been introduced,and a measurement system has been designed.Products bases on this method have been widely used,but the cost is too high. This method is the direct transmission method.Develop low-cost product is the purpose of this topic. The system bases on this method uses n compensative network to compensate phase,so that the measurement accuracy of series resonant frequency has been improved. Then,measure the quartz crystal static capacitance through direct transmission algorithm,which bases on this method. The test result shows that the measurement accuracy of series resonant frequency is ±2ppm and static capacitance is ±10% in the scale of l~10pF,can meet the need of industry.
