Study of Bandgap on Plastic Photonic Crystal Fibers
n this paper the principle of light guide and characteristics of plastic photonic bandgap-photonic crystal fibers is introduced.In order to analyze the influence of bandgap properties of plastic PCF on various parameters in plastic photonic crystal fibers,the fullwave modules of the RsoftCAD is used to simulate and compute the plastic PCF of different parameters. According to the principle of Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD),the bandgap characteristics of Hexagonal rings configurations of photonic crystal fibers is analyzed. The variation rules of bandgap properties with both arrangement and size of air holes and so on have been given. Through multi-grouped comparing the cladding structure of plastic PCF to provide the theoretical basis of fabrication and study of actual plastic photonic bandgapphotonic crystal Fibers.
