Heterogeneous reaction of NO2 and SO2 mizing gas with individual CaCO3 particles
1. Experimental The experimental setup was illustrated in Fig. 1. The calcite (99.995%,Alfa Aesar) was ground and deposited on a FEP film substrate annealed to a silicon wafer (Liu et al,2008). The substrate with individual particles was fixed in the reaction cell. Concentrations of NO2 and sO2 were adjusted by mixing the standard reaction gases (NO2: 1000ppm,Messer; SO2: 2000ppm,National Institute of Metrology P.R.China) with high-purity nitrogen (99.999%,Beijing Huilong Haichang) using mass flow controllers (FC-260,Tylan,Germany). Relative humidity was adjusted by mixing humidified N2 and other dry gases. The RH and temperature of the outflow from the reaction cell were measured by a hygrometer (HMT 100, Vaisala).
