Perozyacetic Acid in the atmosphere

1.Introduction Peroxyacetic Acid (PAA) plays an important role in the atmospheric chemistry because of its potential contribution to the oxidation capacity of the troposphere and the formation of secondary aerosols.Up to date, the measurement data with respect to the atmospheric levels of PAA is scarce to the atmospheric science community. In the present study,we report a series of data of PAA concentrations, for the first time,in rural and urban atmosphere, based on the five field measurements carrited out in the summer of Beijing 2006/07/08,Guangdong Province 2006,and shandong Province 2007. Our observation is aimed to investigate the concentrations of PAA and various chemical and physical factors influencing its levels, and to evaluate the influence of PAA on free radicals budget.
