Water quality monitoring with a biosensor using iron ozidizing bacteria
1.Introduction To ensure a safe,potable water supply,it is important to monitor water quality and inhibit contamination by toxic substances.Water resources could be contaminated by various kinds of chemical substances. To provide each individual detection unit for all such contaminants to maintain water safety is not practical and may become insufficient consequently.It is thus desirable to adopt bioassay methods,which utilize organism responses for general estimation of toxicity. A toxicity monitoring support unit with a biosensor has been developed to sensitively monitor contamination of a water supply source by toxic substances.
