3-D INFORMATION MODELING OF ROAD STRUCTURES
This paper provides a prototype of product data model for capturing and operating the 3-D based road information. The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), which has become a de-facto standard for exchange of 3-D model information in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, is applied to develop the prototype data model of road structures including bridge and tunnel. This paper focuses on identifying entities for physical and spatial components of road structures. In addition, a method for development of the 3-D based information modeling tool is illustrated together with a demonstration of 3-D based information modeling of road structures.
