THE INNOVATIVE DESIGN OF STRUCTURAL SYSTEM FORSELF- ANCHORED SUSPENSION BRIDGES
The only difference between the self-anchored suspension bridge and the earth-anchored suspension bridge is the anchoring method of the main cable, which leads to the differences in structural properties,design method and construction technology. In this paper, through the conceptional schemes and the structural design for the first single-tower single-span hybrid girder self-anchored suspension bridge in the world-Pingsheng bridge in Foshan city, China, this paper introduced some original technologies such as the integral bridge tower, the divided stiffening girders, the hybrid stiffening girders, the steel-concrete combined section, the steel box segmental launching technology and the cable-tensioning adjustment technology applied in Pingsheng bridge. Besides, the key and innovative techniques for the design of the self-anchored suspension bridges were summarized.
