RANDOM SIMULATION RESEARCH ON SHIPS COLLISION SPEED OF BRIDGE
Some scholars have put forward different points of view for the safety of the bridge status assessment. In order to better describe the security status of bridge subjected to a ship collision, it is necessary to study from the perspective of examination of all influencing factors. When a bridge suffers vessels collision, velocity involves greatly in the creation of collision force. This paper, based on the study of a large number of statistical data collection and research, and with the three cross-river bridges in the three gorges reservoir area serving as an illustration, has drawn important conclusions: 1. the two important parameters influencing the design collision velocity ----the typical ship naviga- tion speed and the minimum impact velocity not less than the annual average rate of water flow---- are both in normal distribution; 2. under normal circumstances, vessels’ speed distribution probability model can be described with the normal distribution. These conclusions are of great significance for the study of the collision risk assessment between bridges and vessels, and so on.
