CALCULATE LONG-TERM DEFLECTIONS ON EQUIVALENT FLEXURAL PRINCIPLE
In addition to deflections that occur immediately, reinforced concrete (RC) members are subject to added deflections that occur gradually over long periods, which is mainly due to creep and shrinkage. In this paper, the increase of cross sectional curvature creep- and shrinkage-induced of concrete is studied based on the immediate deflections and equivalent flexural principle (EFP). A formula is proposed to calculate the long-term deflections. Compared with ACI-318 and GB50010, the calculation value calculate by method of this paper is more reliable. Moreover, comparing calculation values to test data shows that the formula can predict long-term deflections well.
