FRACTURE MECHANICS ANALYSIS FOR CONCRETE CRACKING PROCESS DUE TO RUST EXPANSION
According to the analysis based on linear elastic fracture mechanics theory and existing research results of elastic mechanics, the relationship between corrosion expansion force and crack opening displacement before the rust expansion crack reach concrete surface was established in this paper. Meanwhile, concrete fracture toughness and its influencing factors were analyzed combined with double-K fracture criterion. The analysis results indicate that appropriate increase of concrete cover thickness, selection of small-diameter steel and increase of concrete strength are beneficial to improve the anti-corrosive-cracking ability of reinforced concrete. The theoretical analysis result agrees well with the corrosion expansion experimental result of a reinforced concrete specimen.
