PROBLEMS AND ADVANCES ON THE APPLICATION OF PUSHOVER METHOD IN BRIDGE ENGINEERING
Some problems as well as recent advances concerning the application of pushover method in bridge aseismic engineering are introduced and discussed, including proper lateral load patterns, the influence of higher modes, analysis reliability, and damage evaluation method. Considering the peculiar configuration and dynamic characteristics of bridges, more investigations are needed on the above aspects to extend the application of pushover method in bridge engineering. Recent advances have greatly improved the analysis accuracy of pushover method, which indicate the good application prospect of pushover method. In the end, some suggestions on future research subjects are proposed.
