THE SETTLEMENT PREDICTION OF HIGH ROCKFILL EMBANKMENT IN WHOLE PROCESS

The height of Gangou high rock fill embankment in Shanghai-Chengdu expressway West is more than 72m .It is a key project and a difficulty project in the construction. By analyzing the settlement mechanism of high rock fill embankment, the deformation characteristics of high rock fill embankment come to the conclusion that the whole process of settlement-the time has the characteristics of S shape and Gompertz growth curve can be used for fitting the settlement-time change relationship of high rock fill embankment in the whole process. Chosen typical cross-section and location to lay settlement pipes and magnetic ring to monitor the settlement in the whole process; applied Gompertz growth curve to fit settlement-time of every monitoring point and tested the fitting accuracy. The results showed that: By use of Gompertz growth curve to fit the settlement-time change of high rock fill embankment in the whole process is high precision fitting; fitting precision increases with the increases of filling time and measured data; by use of such features of Gompertz curve can better predict the ultimate settlement for high rock fill embankment.
