High-Resolution ISAR Imaging of Space Debris
Since space debris could post a significant threat to the orbiting objects around the earth, their reorganization, measurement, and catalogue are of great importance.Usually, the space debris rotates around a major axis periodically. According to this motion characteristic, this paper established the twodimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging geometry and signal model for space debris, respectively. In addition, kinds of 2D and 3D ISAR imaging algorithms for space debris we have studied in recent years were introduced in this paper. Both the theoretical analysis and imaging results of simulated data verified the algorithms validity.
