Fitting Correction Method of Ring Artifacts in Cone-Beam CT Images
In the paper, the ring artifacts in the cone-beam CT images caused by the pixel response nonuniformity of the flat panel detector are analyzed, and the fitting correction method of the projective images is introduced to suppress this kind of artifacts. Because this method is at preprocessing stage before the whole reconstructive procedures, it neither increase the reconstruction time and nor result in blur in the reconstruction images. The result shows that it can make ring artifacts reduce dramatically. Finally, further discussions on causing ring artifacts are presented, such as variability of the correction factors by different sampling frames, non-linear factors influences over the whole spectrum etc.
