A Unified Simulation Framework of X-ray Phase Contrast Imaging
Since it was proposed, X-ray phase contrast imaging (PCI) has been paid much attention because of its potential for weak absorbing materials imaging. Nevertheless, the requirement of the experimental setups used in PCI is very rigour. Therefore, the simulation of PCI will be an economical and practical method for studying the imaging mechanism. In this paper, a unified simulation framework is proposed to simulate the X-ray PCI. By breaking down a complex X-ray imaging process into a combination of two kinds of fundamental processes, the simulation framework is able to simulate arbitrary X-ray imaging process. The simulations of propagation-based imaging (PBI) and differential phase contrast imaging (DPC) verify the validity of this simulation framework.
