Researching on the Dynamic Process of Red Blood Cells with Optical Tweezers
Red blood cells (RBCs) play a crucial role in health and disease. The structural and mechanical abnormalities of them are associated with important disorders such as Sickle cell disease and hereditary cytoskeletal abnormalities. In this paper, an optical tweezers was used to study the dynamic decay process of the RBCs activity in vitro and the free recovery time of the RBCs was obtained. The shorter recovery time means the higher cells activity. By observing the decay process of cells activity till cell death, one can conclude that, cell viability presents a change rule, and the recovery time rises to a limit after fluctuations value. The decay process was analysed by the theory of elasticity modulus and hydromechanics. The reserch can provide valuable reference for the study of cells viability and dynamic analysis.
