Dynamics of a triple-stage gearing using finite element models
An analyzing method that can examine the complex, dynamic behavior of a triple-stage gearing by using FEM is proposed in this study. The 3D CAD model of the triple-stage gearing is established according to the given geometry parameters. The finite element model of the system is developed from a unique analysis solver specialized for gear dynamics. The dynamics model is established with transmission error excitation and shaft compliance taken into account. The main vibration modes of the whole system are analyzed by simulation experiments and noises are mainly induced by the vibration of the gearbox under the second modal. Based on the model of transmission error, the dynamic forces are determined by using equations in matrix form. Some nonlinear phenomena have been detected in the water spectrum of dynamic mesh forces. The transmission performance is validated by analyzing dynamic responses of the triple-stage gearing.
