Research on the IE Solution for Design Phase of Engineering Management in Manufacturing Sectors in China
In this paper,the phenomena of poor functions of many new factory buildings are presented. The fundamental causes are negligence of importance of design in engineering management and lack of scientific design. This paper puts forward an industrial engineering (IE) solution for design phase of engineering management in manufacturing sectors in China. Because factory design involves many aspects,a multi-layer model for factory design is proposed. IE theories,principles and methods are extended into many layers of the model. A phase-wise model for implementing the IE solution is suggested. Based on our research,we come to a conclusion that engineering management needs scientific design,and in order to enhance design phase work of engineering management,it is possible and suitable to apply the iE solution to design phase of engineering management in manufacturing sectors in China.
