Rigid-Flezible Coupling Dynamics Analysis Method for Gun Based on Gauss Constraint

The rigid-flexible coupling multi-body dynamics model of the gun system was developed based on the Gauss minimum constraint principle. The expressions of the dynamic equations in closed form were deduced, and the means to simplify all kinds of external forces were provided. According to this dynamic equations and combining the correlative experimental parameters, the firing process of gun was numerically simulated and analyzed. The results of simulation indicate that: Although the modeling process considering barrels flexibility is more complicated than the pure rigid modeling, the rigid-flexible coupling dynamics model that obtained by flexible multi-body dynamics theory is more close to the actual firing case compared with rigid model. Barrels flexibility has an effect on the displacement and velocity of muzzle vibration, further more, affects muzzle initial disturbance of projectile, and finally, affects firing accuracy. So its indispensable to consider barrels flexibility when carries through the dynamic simulation of the whole gun system. The model, method, and results of simulation have reference value to correlative engineering research, and provide also a technical way for improving on the design of gun.
