Nb2O5-SrO-Na2O-SiO2 nanocomposite dielectric with high breakdown strength
A pore-free Nb_2 O5-SrO-Na_2O-SiO_2 nanocemposite dielectric,which could be used as the energy-storage material to fabricate high energy density devices,was prepared via roll-quenching followed by controlled crystallization. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis showed that nano-size Sr_2 Nb_2 O_7 and N_aNbO_3 phases were crystallized from the glass matrix at above 750 ℃. The average grain size was about 50 nm when glass crystallized at 900 ℃. The characteristics of dielectric constant on temperature and frequency was measured,which indicated that Nb_2O_5-SrO-Na_2O-SiO_2 glass-ceramic performed a high dielectric tempera ture stability (<5%) from -55 ℃ to 125 ℃. The breakdown strength of the glass-ceramics was high due to nano-size grain size and low porosity. The breakdown strength of the samples crystallized at 700 ℃ was 120 kV/mm.
