Physical nature of increasing strength of TiC-NiCrAI hard alloy surface layer by electron-beam irradiation

1.Introduction Today the most universal and highly effective way of qualitative change of mechanical and physical-chemi cal properties of crystal materials is transformation of their microstructure into submicro- and nanocrystalline state 1-3.Now one of perspective methods of such structural state formation is the electron-beam process ing with the use of intensive lowenergy electronic beams of submillisecond duration. This treatment allow in car dinal manner to modify surface layers of thickness in tens of micrometers,practically not changing structural phase state of the underlying material 4-6.
