Solubility of ultrafine polytetrafluoroethylene in supercritical carbon diozide

Polytetrafluoroethylene possesses a number of unique properties,however polymer use has also several re strictions.Intensive industrial production of PTFE leads to a problem of processing of used material.Develop ment of new ways of PTFE processing resulted in crea tion of several new forms of Ultrafine PTFE (UPTFE) -《FORUM(R)》(FluoroORganic Ultra-dispersed Mate rial,Russia).《Fluralit(R)》,《 Kirovo-Chepetsk UPT FE》. This commercial materials consist of a mixture of low and high molecular weight perfluorinated linear chains,(-CF_2-)n.UPTFE materials possess all the major benefits of polytetrafluoroethylene,but the pres ence of low molecular weight components results in sol ubility in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2).
