Nanocristallization surface treatment of titanium alloys

Surface nanustructurization of metal alloys has certain advantages over volumetric methods of material preparation as it allows obtaining unique properties that are typical for nanomaterials on large products that have a rather complex shape.Here we should first of all focus on methods using an intensive surface treatment by a powerful ultrasound. The work based on appheation of the modem methods of strip chart surface recording (New View 7300 and Micro Meager 3D),optical metallography and transmission electron microscopy (JEM 2000FX) studies the structure and properties of surface coatings of titanium alloys depending on the way the surface is prepared be fore treatment.Mechanisms of nanostructure formation and their influence on performance characteristics of titanium. Alloys are discussed.
