Influence of plastic deformation on the microstructure and wear properties of as-cast HAL60-1-1 Al-brass
Compression deformation was done at 750℃ for the as-cast HAL60-1-1 Al-brass has been homogenized.Microstructure,hardness and wear properties of as-cast and as-compressed samples have been measured.Experimental results show that the grain of as cast HAL60-1-1 Al-brass is coarse,which comprises light colour needle shaped a-phase,dark coloured (βphase matrix and hard second phase. After plastic deformation,grain size becomes small,the second phase distribution is even and the hardness can be improved from HB131 to HB167.Dual dry friction test of as-cast sample and as-compressed sample showed that the wear width and wear extent of as cast sample was larger than that of as-compressed sample.Plastic deformation can evidently improve the wear resistance of as-cast HAL60-1-1 Al-brass.
