Ion modification of TiNi alloy with thin tantalum coating: morphology, roughness and adhesive strength
Influence of the ion modification on surface morphology,a roughness and adhesive strength of the tantalum coatings (Ta-coat ings) formed on the TiNi substrate by the magnetron deposition techniques are shown in the work.It is revealed that the roughness of the Ta-coatings surface has decreased down to the roughness of the TiNi initial electropolished surface after ion beam influence with Si+ or Ta+ ions. On the contrary, the roughness of these coatings has increased almost in 3 times after ion beam influence with Mo+ ions.It is established that ion modification with use of Ta+ or Si+ ions lead to weak increase in adhesive strength of the Ta-coatings (on 5 -5-10%) , whereas ion modification with use of Mo+ions has raised the Ta-coating adhesive strength more, than two times.
