Sorption properties of titanium getter with addition of Zr-V-Fe

A Ti getters added with Zr-V-Fe was prepared by conventional powder metallurgical technology. The sorption properties of the Ti-Zr-V-Fe getter prepared at three different sintered temperatures were investigated. The effects of surface,structure,sintered tempera ture and porosity of the getter on the sorption properties were investigated by FESEM,porosity test and the test of sorption properties. The results showed that the hydrogen sorption property of Ti-Zr-V-Fe which were sintered at 850℃ and activated at 450℃ for 10 min are bet ter than that of getters which sintered at 800 and 900℃. The hydrogen sorption property of Ti-Zr-V-Fe which were sintered at 850℃and activated at 450℃for 10 min are worse than that of ZrVFe which was straightly pressed without being sintered,while the mechanical strength of former is better than that of latter.Compared with other getters,The Ti-Zr-V-Fe getter which were sintered at 850℃is even more fit for applying to the vacuum devices which are used at bad environment.
