Effect of pH levels of aqueous solution on ZnO nanostructures

Various ZnO nanostructures were synthesized in aqueous solutions by hydrothermal reaction at 90 ?. An equimolar (0.05 mol/L) aqueous solution of zinc nitrate hexahydrate and methenamine as precursors to synthesize ZnO nanostructures by using ammonia solution to adjusting the pH levels.We use X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy to characterize the morphology and nanostructure of obtained ZnO nanostructures.It was found out that pH significantly influences the shape of the ZnO nanostructures,leading to obtained different morphologies of nanostructures.
