Effect of temperature on crystallization morphology and ozygen content of high purity titanium by electrorefining

The temperature effect on the morphology and the oxygen content of the electro-refined Ti in NaCl-KCl-TiCl,molten salt sys tem were studied.With the same cathode current density and Ti concentration,the electrorefining were performed in the experiment range from 700 ℃ to 850℃ Below 800℃, it was found the obtained Ti crystals became larger with the temperature increased,as well as the more compact conglomeration and the lower fraction of inclusive salt. As the result,the oxygen content remarkably decreased.However,when the system temperature was higher than 800℃,the salt inclusion increased with the temperature,which then resulted in high oxy gen contents.
