Pharmacological research of acetylsalicylic acid,chlorpropamide and acizol transdermal therapeutic systems made of biocompatible materials

Pharmacological properties of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) ,chlorpropamide and acizol transdermal therapeutic systems (TTS),made of biocompatible materials,were studied.It was shown that the matrix TTS application provided constant drug concentra tion in blood for prolonged time period (up to 27 h). The elimination half-life and mean residence time during TTS application are higher in comparison with traditional drug forms. ASA and chlorpropamide peak plasma concentrations were lower in comparison with traditional routes of drug administration. ASA and acizol bioavailability increased in 8.7 and 22.3 times respectively in case of transdermal adminis tration as compared to the traditional routes of drug administration.
