Study of working capacity of palladium alloys membrans in products of conversion of hydrocarbon fuels and natural gas

Extraction of hydrogen from gas mixtures of hydrocarbon raw materials conversion by means of palladium alloy membranes is the only known for present way of ultrahigh-purity hydrogen (> 99.9999 vol.%) manufacture in one stage under the lowest labor and capital expenditures. The composition of gas mixtures greatly influences upon capacity, resource and reliability of membrane operation. It is studied the influence of concentration of gas mixtures components containing H2,CO,CO2,H2O,N2 and others on hydrogen penetra bility of membranes made of palladium-based alloys with elements of Ⅰ,Ⅲ AndⅧ groups of the Periodic Table. For determination of ef fectiveness of membrane operation in these media,it is evaluated their catalytic activity. There are determined conditions of membranes operation for their experimental-industrial use in the processes of high-purity hydrogen extraction from the products of hydrocarbon fuels conversions that will allow to adjust the process and to control its efficiency.
