Effect of nanopowdered refractory compound on refinement of solidifying structure and properties of K403 superalloy
The effects of nanopowdered refractory compound as the modifying agent on solidification structure and mechanical properties of superalloy K403 were investigated. The results show that the modifying agent causes integral refinement of the grain structure and the carbide of K403 superalloy in castings, the macrograin size refined from 5-10 mm without modifying to uniform 3 mm and less, the car bide size refined from 40-60 μm to 10 μm. And these result in significant improvement of the mechanical properties, the LCF at 600 ℃ increased by 2.7 times, and the stress rupture life at 975 X.increased by 40% ,and the elongation doubled.
