Dissolution kinetics of Nd2O3 in NdF3 -LiF-Nd2O3 melts
In this paper,dissolution rate of Nd2O3 in NdF3-IiF-Nd2O3 melts was researched.Rate controlling step of Nd2O3 dissolution was studied through comparison of measured value and calculated values of three models.Nd2O3 dissolution behavior could be described by shrinking sphere model or mass transport control model,and rate controlling step was mass transport or heat transfer.For lower Nd2O3 concentration melts,dissolution enthalpy of Nd2O3 was higher and mass transport control was more important;for higher Nd2O3 concentra tion melts,dissolution enthalpy of Nd2O3 was lower and heat transfer control was more obvious.
