Bulk nanocrystalline metals fabricated by SHS casting
Bulk nanocrystalline Fe3Al materials contain 5 wt.% , 10 wt.% and 15 wt.% Ni element were prepared by aluminothermic re action. The materials were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD),transmission electron microscope (TEM) and electron probe microana lyzer (EPMA). The results show that the addition of alloying elements Ni did not change bulk nanocrystalline Fe3 Al materials grain size The nanocrystalline matrix phases have disorder bcc crystal structure and their average grain size is above 20 run.
