Effect of ageing conditions on microstructure of ferritic-martensitic steel rusfer-EK181 subjected to ultrasonic surface treatment

1.Introduction Ultrasonic treatment is an efficient method for the surface hardening and microstructure evolution of both austenitic and martensitic steels. It was shown, that substructural transformation in medi um-carbon martensitic steel subjected to ultrasonic treatment causes their fragmentation.Carbon transfor mations occur through different ways such as refinement and growth of cementite particles from carbon-supersatu rated austenite and ferrite as well as partial replacement of cementite by special carbide.
