Effect of doping rare-earth ozide on microwave absorbing properties of Ni-Zn ferrite/Al-alloy foams compound materials
To study the effect of doping the rare-earth oxide on the microwave absorbing properties of Ni-Zn ferrite /Al-alloy foams,the surface of Al-alloy foams was coated with Ni-Zn ferrite (denoted by CfP) ,and doping 1% (mass percent) lanthanum oxide (denoted by CfPl) and the rare-earth oxide (denoted by CfP2) of Ni-Zn ferrite respectively. The coated Al-alloy foams were tested according to the Standard GJB 2038-94 Method to test the reflectivity of radar absorbing materials ,i.e.,the RCS (radar cross-section) method. The morphology and distribution of microwave absorbent were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The absorbing properties of each example under different wave band were discussed. The result indicated that in the 12-18 GHz and 26.5-40 GHz band the absorbing properties increase with the increase of frequency,after doped the rare earth oxide,the absorbabili ty of the compound material was enhancement.So,the absorbability of Al-alloy foams coated powder compound of Ni-Zn ferrite in reason able proportion to the rare-earth oxide in is available to be improved.
