New potentials in producing composite materials reinforced with high performance polyethylene fibers with nanocrystalline structure
The report presents the results obtained in the study of non-equilibrium low-temperature plasma technique for improving the bondability of high performance polyethylene fibers to polymer matrices. The application of plasma-activated polyethylene fibers for rein forcing an epoxy matrix allows one to produce light-weight composite materials with high physicomechanical indices.
