Agent-oriented Simulation and Evaluation of Aerodrome Airside

Complex operation in aerodrome airside requires evaluation and analysis models to improve its safety and service quality. Many models are employed in the application of airside analysis and operation reproduction. However, few simulation models study the airside operation from a global viewpoint. This paper proposes agent-oriented simulation model for overall airside operation using multi-agent approach. Different agents for arrival and departure aircrafts, tower controllers, ground controllers and resource in airside, and the interaction among these agents have been designed in this model. To achieve coordination between agents, different roles have been assigned to agents. Generation model of air traffic simulation flow and simulation algorithm are presented. Simulation was achieved with the intelligent character of agents and this model is applied on a real case study. The simulation result indicates that the simulation model for airside operation can provide reference for the improvement of service in the aerodrome airside.
