Efficient Hardware IP Control and Simulation with LabVIEW
In this paper,we propose an efficient control and simulation method for hardware IPs(Intellectual Properties) in HDL,by the use of LabVIEW,Simulink,and active-HDL. The hardware IPs modeled with Active-HDL are connected to Simulink by HDL Blackbox,one of Simulink block sets. And LabVIEW is also connected to Simulink using Lab VIEW SIT(Simulation Interface Toolkit).With simulink as the center,a software block programmed with Lab VIEW and hardware IPs modeled with Active-HDL are connected to each other. Then we can control hardware IPs by using software and simulate the IPs in a GUI environment.We can use this method to verify whether hardware IPs work well or not in almost real time without a prototyping board.
