A 2.4GHz Non-Contact Biosensor System for Continuous Vital-Signs Monitoring on a Single PCB
The design and implementation of a noncontact miniaturized biosensor system that can monitor respiration and heart rates in real-time has been discussed. The system has been realized using a custom designed 4 layered PCB with the RF system on top layer and the analog system on the bottom layer. The data obtained using this miniaturized system was processed and logged in real-time using a LabVIEW Graphic User Interface (GUI). A comparison of performance shows the current miniaturized system performs as well as our previously published discrete system.Good data accuracy has been observed with mean errors in detection of respiration of about 0.5 beat/min and heart rate of about 1 beat/min.
