Technology Practice on High Limonite Proportion in Baosteel Branch
In order to weaken the pressure of ever-increasing iron-making cost year by year and the scarcity of high grade of iron ore, it is important and urgent to research the multi-limonite using for sinter production and fumble the high limonite proportion technology practice. On the basis of systematic study on physical and chemical properties of limonite, Baosteel accumulated the experience and technology about sinter production with high proportion of limonite. Considering the crystal structure and the sintering properties of limonite, the harmful effects caused by limonite’s low-melting point and tendency of easily assimilation in sintering process were eliminated by strengthening pelleting effect, matching the speed of sintering machine and bed depth. On the basis of stable sinter quality, the sintering process of high limonite proportion comes into practical production in Baosteel Branch.
