Study on the Use of Jianshan Flotation Tailings at TISCO
Flotation tailings are solid waste from Jianshan iron mine which characterized with 55% of silica and 25% of total iron. If the tailings are added in the sintering blend ,the iron in the tailings will be used efficiently and the environment pollution pressure will also be relieved, such practice not only pioneer the new direction for the use of tailings but also comply with national economy policy. The laboratory studies are carried out on the basis of acquiring the physical , chemical and other high temperature properties , the results show that there is subtle change in the sinter quality with the addition of tailings in sinter blend when optimizing the parameters such as sintering blend moisture, solid fuel rate and blend granulation, the comprehensive studies indicate that it is feasible to add tailings in the sintering blend.
