Optimization of Fluz Composition for Sintering With High Limonite Proportion
The sintering characteristics of the general fluxes were researched through the experiments on the mineralization capacity, liquid phase generation capacity and consolidation strength of the sintering blending material with high proportion of limonite and general fluxes. Based on the above studies, sintering pot tests were carried out, and the principles of optimizing sintering flux composition for high proportion of limonite were obtained. The results showed: (1) Quicklime should be selected as a preferred flux because of the high mineralization capacity, liquid phase generation capacity and consolidation strength. (2) About 4 wt% of limestone could be replaced by quicklime to obtain the products with relatively good properties. (3) The particle size of serpentine should be refined to be less than 2 mm. The results of this work will provide theoretical basis and technical countermeasure for optimizing sintering flux composition under high proportion of limonite.
