Forming Mechanism of Rings in Rotary-Kiln for Ozidized Pellet
The grate-kiln process has been widely used for preparation of oxidized pellet in China. However, the ringforming is an outstanding problem in practice. In this paper, the characteristics and forming mechanisms of rings in rotary kiln for oxidized pellets were investigated. It could be found that the accretion concretion of powders in kiln accounts for forming of the rings, and the recrystallization of Fe2O3 between particles based on solid-state diffusion made the powder connect with each other and adhered on the inner face of kiln. Tests were carried out to simulate ringforming by briquetting-roasting in lab, the results showed that properties of the powder, such as the chemical composition, particle size ect. influenced the forming of rings greatly.
