Effect of Converter Sludge on Compression Strength of Ozidized Pellets
Converter sludge generated in the process of steel making is a valuable secondary resource and suitable for iron ore pellet making. Effect of converter sludge on the strength of oxidized pellets and its mechanism was investigated. Meanwhile, with orthogonal experimental design, the effect of drying and preheating conditions on the pellet quality was studied, too. The results showed that the strength increased obviously after adding some converter sludge in pellets because it could improve Fe2O3 crystalloid connecting and make the structure of oxidized pellets more homogeneous and compact. The impacts of drying and preheating conditions on strength of oxidized pellets weakened as following order: drying temperature, drying time, preheating time and preheating temperature. Within these four facts, drying temperature and drying time was influential obviously. It is important and significative to study recycling use of converter sludge in pelletizing process.
