Influence of Coking Pressure and OvenAge on Oven Wall Displacement and Pushing Force
The oven wall displacement was measured at No.6 coke oven battery of Hokkai Iron and Coke Corporation (started in 1979). In five of 42 chambers of this battery, oven-wall brickworks above the sole were completely repaired on February 2005. This means that both old (26 years in operation) and new (one year in operation) oven chambers coexist in the same battery. It was found that the wall displacement of the old chamber is larger than the one of the new chamber about five times at the same coking pressure. It was confirmed that the influence of gas pressure on the pushing force in old chamber was greater than the one in new chamber.
