Research on the Optimization Application of BF Hot Stove Energy-Saving Coating

The high emissivity energy-saving coating is always considered to be advanced energy-saving material because it can increase thermal efficiency for industrial furnaces. For BF hot blast stoves, higher blast temperature can be obtained with checker bricks covered with the coating. However, the best application part of coating on BF hot blast stove is not well known, so the study of the optimization application of energy-saving coating was carried out. The optimization study was based on numerical simulation and industrial experiment. The simulation results showed that the best application part was the high temperature area of regenerator in the BF hot stove. Based on the result, industrial experiment of thermal diagnosis was carried out at two blast stoves, one with coating on high temperature area of regenerator and the other without any on. With the coating, the hot blast temperature was increased by 25℃ and waste gas temperature was decreased by 13℃. As a result, the thermal efficiency was increased by 5%. The significance of this study is to understand the best application part and the energy saving effect of energy-saving coating. Energy-saving coating improves the surface radiation property of checker bricks in hot stove which strengthens the radiation heat transfer process between gas and the checker bricks during the combustion period which increases the heat storage capacity and the surface temperature of the checker bricks which can indirectly strengthen the convection heat transfer during blast period.
